Know your baseline: this is about knowing yourself and being honest about your preferences and default motivation.
Do what motivates you: find out what motivates you and do more of that, because that then makes it easier to do the stuff that you maybe don’t feel quite so enthusiastic about.
Do something: the main thing is to start by simply doing something because that’s how progress is made.
Start small: just five minutes spent doing something can be enough to kick-start your motivation.
Take your time: one of the main reasons why people lose motivation and give up on pursuing the things they want is because they haven’t given it enough time to naturally build.
Focus on one step at a time: take whatever it is you want to achieve or you have to do, break it down into small bite-size chunks, and then just focus on one step at a time.
Focus on what really matters: this point is very much about choosing to find your motivation from within, rather than letting external factors determine what you do or don’t do.
Focus on one thing at a time: because multitasking rarely works for most people and it can actually increase your stress levels, since you’re usually trying to juggle lots of different things at once while knowing that you’re not really giving any of them 100% of your attention.
If you’re not feeling it, you’re not feeling it: sometimes you’re just not going to be operating at 100%, and I think it’s perfectly fine to give yourself a break (physically and mentally) every now and then so you can recharge your batteries and rediscover your mojo.
Make things as easy as possible for yourself: keep things as simple as possible, because the quicker you can get something done, the more you will feel a sense of achievement and be more likely to keep going.
Be grateful: the more you feel grateful for what you already have in your life, the less worried you are about external factors and validation from others.
Be true to yourself: there’s no point trying to be someone you’re not, so be 100% authentic and that will enable you to focus on the things that actually matter to you.
Celebrate your progress: because if you just focus on what’s next without taking time to recognise how far you’ve come and what you’ve achieved, you can find that it’s hard to remain motivated. so celebrate your wins and reward yourself for milestones that you achieve for a bit of positive reinforcement.
