Hello everyone, welcome to episode 4 of minutes of facts podcast. Today, we will talk about breaks. How much taking breaks is refreshing and resetting. Why does it matter. And how to keep doing it more often.
What does Break mean ?
The idea of ‘taking a break’ essentially means stepping away from your usual activities or work in order to rest and recharge.
Why taking breaks are good for our mental health ?
It reduces stress and prevents burnout, since continuous work or staying engaged in a task for too long without a break can lead to stress, exhaustion and even burnout. Breaks provide a necessary pause, helping to lower stress levels and rejuvenate your mental state.
How to take breaks more often in a balanced way?
- Think about your attitude towards breaks: look within, think how much you need breaks and admit it.
- Just do it! Once you feel so exhausted just stop making excuses and take break. If you are body tells you to stop then stop! Make sure you use paid time in work. It is there of a reason!
- Communicate, prevent people around you, you manager for ex, so they take note than you are not in for a period of time and make sure you are living a message (out of office) to notice others as well. So nobody can bother you.
- Schedule breaks like meetings: put your breaks in your calendar as you do in job. Because it is important too as your job!
- Make time for what you like to do, for hobbies, creativity, meditation, or just to breathe.
- Ensure that you spend enough time with yourself first, because making space for ‘down time’ on your own can be incredibly restful
- Spend time with your be loved ones, because your social interactions with friends, family and colleagues can boost your mood and provide a sense of support and community,
